40% of users 60 to 85 years have smartphones

Despite popular belief, the smartphones have also come to the elderly. A larger screen and intuitive menus, and health-related applications, have increased the interest in this sector by the smart phone.

Older people are becoming more interested in the latest speech technologies. According follows a study by The Phone House, 40 percent of the terminals have been sold to people aged between 60 and 85 years, are smartphones.

This is a significant figure, taking into account the unwillingness that grandparents have to experiment with new electronic devices.

One possible reason that the study points out, is that smartphones have a bigger screen. Also, the menus and icons are more intuitive than the traditional mobile phone.

Moreover, in the use of the 'smartphone', the older Android declined more than iOS. 90 percent of smartphone purchases carried the Google OS. It is likely that this decision was motivated by the cost of the terminal, as well as the biggest range available in the Android market.

Weather and cardiovascular pulse

Among the options that have attracted the greatest in smart phone use are the time-related and health.
Knowing the weather and its evolution throughout the day is important for everyone but especially for those most sensitive to changes in temperature.

Also, another concern with the elderly is health. Applications that measure the pulse, as Heart Rate or notified of when to take the next tablet as Medsontime, are extremely useful for those users.
In addition, The Phone House says it has proposed a plan to help the more mature. A shopkeeper configure options 'smartphone', such as applications, the date and time, the email service and the transfer of data from a standard mobile phone.

It will also provide its customers with guidance "plus", with all the information you need to know your smart device.
